Prescription
In 2018 I was due for an eye doctor visit so I went to my local chain store & used my insurance plan to purchase both a eyeglass and contact lense exam. My evil plan was to buy the contacts from my local store, but get a copy of my eyeglasses prescription to use on Zenni; My plan worked perfectly! I updated my profiles with my eyeglass prescription, the doctors name, and my PD measurement and made my first Zenni purchase in March 2018.

Measure Your Pupillary Distance (PD)
An important step in ordering from Zenni Optical is to get your Pupillary Distance (PD). Most eye exams do not readily provide that info, but thankfully my sales rep read my prescription out loud as she typed it into the system (HIPPA!! lol) and I noticed she said what my PD was. I pretended to text message someone and jotted down the number. I’m sure I could have just asked, but it felt more naughty to do it this way. Before I left the exam, I also asked for a copy of both of my prescriptions.

Virtual Try-On
Zenni has definitely upgraded the Try On process since the last time I used it. What a cool feature though. You upload a front facing photo and the software puts the glasses right onto your photo; Very cool! I can confirm that they looked the same in person as they did during my virtual try-on! I uploaded a few different hairstyles so I could see how they’d look with my hair up or down.

For me, I have found the perfect combination for my glasses:
- Frames – many styles are SUPER affordable
- Lens – I get Single Vision lenses with the 1.61 High-Index
- AR Anti-Reflection Coating – I HATE driving at night, especially with glasses on. This anti-reflection coating is a lifesaver against oncoming traffic lights! They definitely help prevent the terrifying glare. I compare my Zenni glasses against ones I purchased from a brick and mortar and can “see” a huge difference.
- USPS Mail (First-Class Mail) – shipping was fast and my glasses arrived perfectly in my mailbox with their own plastic box and eyeglass cleaning wipe!
Don’t Forget Your Sunglasses!
One of the cutest options with Zenni is the ability to purchase SUNGLASS clip-ons that MATCH the shape and size of the frames you are purchasing! Like, how awesome is that? I AM that person that will put a huge pair of sunglasses on TOP of my normal eyeglasses haha. With the clip-on option though, clipon, clipoff, some sunglasses fun!
Pre-tax dollars
Zenni does accept Flex Spending (FSA) and Health Savings (HSA) accounts as a form of payment! I do have a HSA credit card, so I now use it at checkout as i would a normal credit card. In the beginning though, I didn’t realize they took HSA. Thanks to their wonderful marketing emails, I was alerted that I could use HSA for my past and future purchases. So I logged in, downloaded my itemized receipts from my Zenni account and submitted them to my HSA company for reimbursement.

These hurt me a little behind my ears but they never slid off and have held up wonderfully after many a summer outfit. 👌🏽 Can’t beat that price though!

WHOOPS! I always assumed these were LILAC colored glasses. I just realized these are categorized as PINK?! Since the frames are translucent, I guess that is understandable. I pair them up with purple and lighter colored summer outfits. These are another great lightweight pair.
