Home Gym

$186
This bench is a very cool dynamic duo. For the price, it’s sturdy enough, but could be a little too wobbly for some. The leg extension accommodates both standard and Olympic weights. The hamstring curl takes a bit more positioning but works wonderfully for me. Comes in a lot of parts, needs a good amount of tools, and takes an hour or two to put together.

$198
My newer bench is a Multi-functional Bench. You can do Sit-ups, Leg Lifts, Preacher curls, and so much more. It also comes with resistance bands that can be attached to the front or back of the bench. It’s not as sturdy as my Marcy bench, so I don’t use it for my leg curls or hamstring curls.

$22
A great tool for your t-bar rows and landmine exercises. I weigh mine down with a snake sandbag filled with rice!

I love that these bands are stackable. I’ve used them for bicep, tricep, shoulder, & leg exercises to substitute for a cable machine. The door anchor works wonderfully for me. The colored sizes are Black (30 lbs.), Blue(25 lbs.), Red (20 lbs.), Green(15 lbs.) and Yellow (10 lbs.).

Don’t spend an arm & a leg ($100+) on “conventional” weight plate racks. I had an extra pot/pan/lid rack laying around the house & tried it out with my weight plates; It worked perfectly! Since they’re adjustable, it can fit both the thick & thin plates, both standard & olympic plates.

Target and isolate your bicep muscles by locking your elbows into place and keeping them from swaying during lifts.

Purchased in 2020 during the coronavirus stay at home order.

If you love step classes at the gym, you should definitely try them at home. I’ve had mine since 2017 and it delivers an amazing cardio workout. Check out one of my YouTube step videos. Can also be used as a lifting bench. Additional normal and slanted/incline risers can be purchased separately.

$200
A fun addition added to our home gym due to the coronavirus stay-at-home order. This contraption came in A LOT of pieces, so have patience with this one. Once put together though, it’ll be a real gem. Not super heavy and very transportable; I put it outside the door when I need more room in our small fitness area. Feels so great to be able to do squats, bench press and shoulder raises again. Check out my YouTube video to see this product in action.

$18
If additional height is needed during your step workout, these risers work great with the stepper listed above.

$33
If you’re looking to use your stepper as a bench, buy these slanted risers to turn your step into an incline bench!

Heart Rate Monitor
$79.95
I’ve had this heart rate monitor since 2017 and it still works wonderfully. I love not having to wear an annoying strap around my body! The original unit comes with a few straps in a few sizes, which is nice!

Replacement Straps
$12.95
Unfortunately, the velcro on the band/straps goes bad after a while. I’m guessing it’s because I wash them. I’ve purchased replacement bands once in three years, since the original unit comes with a few straps!

$60
Purchased in 2015. Take your workout to the next level by tracking your success.

I use lacrosse balls to roll out my feet for tension therapy. A must for everyone. Can alleviate many knee and leg pains via the pressure points on your feet.

Invest in a good digital scale. The Tanita with Body Fat% calculator literally told me the same exact weight the same day I went and got on the doctors scale: true test of a great scale.
