BLOG: Sculpting and molding through Yoga and Pilates

My sister introduced me to an amazing Yoga/Pilates center in Conshohocken, PA. I did a 2 week beginner course and am so addicted now! In person is SO much different than on DVDs.

I knew I was flexible – but my goodness! What these classes have you doing is.. wow.

I began with a 2 week beginner course (expires tomorrow) that allowed me to take as many classes as I wanted for 2 weeks.

I think I did Yoga for 3 days and Pilates for 3 days – switching activities between days.

One thing that I’ve noticed that Yoga and Pilates has taught my is how to breathe through movement. I am HORRIBLE with my breathing during cardio. Sometimes, I feel better when I hold my breath to get through a move. So focusing on breathing for a whole 60 minutes was a new thing to me!

Now I find it easier to get through my regular cardio DVDs because I focus on my breathing, not the activity I am currently doing.

I also enjoy the relaxation that Yoga brings to my day. After a long day @ work, I enjoy letting everything go and literally, leaving it dripping on that yoga mat.

Pilates has began to sculpt my body in a way that weights could never touch!

I feel amazing. I even began incorporating my Jillian Michaels back into my routine. I feel VAST improvement in my endurance rather than when I did her cycle in June.

I feel sculpted and lean and strong and I just love it!

I tried Vinyasa – FLOW this week. Can we say “LOVING IT!” I was doing things in that class that I never thought I could do! A Yoga head stand?!?! What?!?!? Me?!?!? Nisey?!?!? No way! YES WAY. On my first night in the class too! What a confidence booster that class was.

I FEEL strong. I FEEL powerful.

I am so glad to have added this to my life. Of course, $$$ is always the problem – but if I commit to it, the benefits will surely outweigh the financials. We’ll see!
