BLOG: My Supplements

Supplements can help you achieve your goals when implemented into your daily routine with workouts and healthy eating. The benefits of supplements can be fat loss, additional nutrients for the body & additional energy. Certain supplements can also help cells grow & repair cells from workout wear & tear.

For all of the supplements listed & pictured, feel free to check them out on my Amazon store in the SUPPLEMENTS section.

Direct links for each product are listed below though!

FIBER

Try to get at least 15g-25g of fiber a day. Fiber will help with your digestion, blood sugar, & help you process high protein foods better! It will also make you feel fuller for longer! Add high fiber fruits & veggies to your diet! Apples, mangos, raspberries, strawberries, etc all have great fiber counts. For high fiber veggies, try broccoli, spinach, or brussel sprouts. Beans & Potatoes are also great sources of fiber. Fiber is a trackable item in MyFitnessPal so be sure to keep an eye on it! To supplement on lower carb days, I use a fiber gummy.

BLOG: “Look-a here! Look-a here!”

Nope! That’s not the excited face of Dad grabbing his plate of a gourmet meal. Nope! That’s Dad’s excited face over hot dogs & macaroni & cheese!!! LOL! He loves to exclaim “Looka here! Looka here!” when this “meal” arrives.

BLOG: “Misusing” “Free Time”

Dad goes to his Day Center on Saturdays from 9am to 4pm. I deem that as my “free time”. I truly dislike doing household chores during said “free time”, but OH MY GOODNESS, it is so much easier to do laundry & clean around this place when he’s not here!

BLOG: Week 1 of – YOU – On a Diet a.k.a The Dr. Oz Diet

For more information on this diet, click here to see my Planning & Preparation post on how I got started & also graphically how this diet fits into my nutritional plans.

Day One, Monday, October 12th, 2009: The day actually went VERY well. Through my exercising with ChaLEAN Extreme, and this eating plan, I had a TON of energy. I didn’t even want the day to end; I had to force myself to go to sleep at a reasonable time. I was NEVER hungry. The only time I got a tummy grumble was when it was getting closer to lunch. I’ve just recently switched to eating at 1pm instead of 12 noon because it gives me less time to work after lunch LOL.

BLOG: My Home Fitness Gear

I absolutely adore my Heart Rate Monitor. Even though it’s an older model, it’s pretty great. It tracks your calories and fat burned. It keeps a log of your daily & weekly workout records.

RECIPE: YOU – On a Diet a.k.a The Dr. Oz diet

Planning & Preparation

A co-worker of mine is HUGE into fad diets. Does she do them? Yes. Does she ever complete them? NO! lol. The other day, she mentioned a very simple eating plan she saw on Dr. Oz’s (made famous on the Oprah show) tv show. It was based on his book “YOU: On a Diet”.

Of course.. I could just go pick up the book at the library, but queen procrastination is my name, and I have yet to get the book. She offered to write the simple plan down for me.
