HelloFresh is conducting a voluntary recall of its onions due to the potential presence of salmonella bacteria. Please discard all onions received from May 8 through July 31, 2020. HelloFresh is known to be a “cook as you go” service that only delivers enough fresh ingredients for the recipe of that moment. I’m sure most of the onions people received have already been consumed… but to be safe, be sure check the product codes, located on the bottom square of your box shipping label. Alternatively, cooking the onions to a 165ºF/74ºC temperature, as instructed on their disclosed recipe cards, will kill the salmonella bacteria.
