REVIEW: Venus Williams’ Plant Based Protein Shake is Really Tasty!!

In October, I received a Google news alert for an article about a new plant based protein shake created by tennis superstar, Venus Williams. I’m a huge fan of protein shakes. Because of an adverse reaction to whey protein, I’ve been consuming plant based proteins since 2019, so I was definitely interested in this product!

Venus Williams’ Vegan Journey

Venus Williams began her plant-based journey after being diagnosed with a chronic systemic autoimmune disease, Sjögren’s syndrome, in 2011. Venus experienced 6 years of swollen and painful joints and muscles, along with fatigue, before being able to put a name to her disorder. 10 months of working with a rheumatologist and changing to a vegan diet allowed Venus to manage her disease and return to playing tennis.

Venus admits that she’s not the biggest breakfast person, and normally relies on shakes to start her nutrition for the day. She spent years working with experts to create the best tasting plant protein shake for herself, and I have to admit, it’s really delicious!

Happy Viking Review

Vanilla Bean – 4 stars

When I first tried Happy Viking, I started with the Vanilla Bean flavor. I’ve tried other plant based chocolate formulas and have even let down. I felt vanilla would be a good neutral starting point. Boy, was I correct! The Vanilla Bean definitely holds up against other non-whey protein powders with a mild flavor and smooth texture; These are a keeper!

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Triple Chocolate – 5 stars

CutsCurvesFitness.com Review of Venus Williams' Plant Based Protein Shake

Since Happy Viking also provides a variety pack, I decided that’d be the best way to try the Triple Chocolate flavor. My Goodness! The Happy Viking Triple Chocolate Premixed Plant Protein Shakes are one of the best tasting chocolate plant based proteins I have tasted in years. It reminds me of the delicious chocolate milks we used to get in middle school and leaves me feeling totally nostalgic!

Rating: 5 out of 5.

The premixed Plant Protein Shakes are smooth with no grittiness at all. It didn’t leave me with an aftertaste, and didn’t cause me any gastrointestinal issues, as most whey protein powders do. These shakes are delicious on their own, or you can even mix them into your morning iced coffee for an even more delicious treat! The best part is that no refrigeration needed for the premixed shakes. Put this one in your bag and go!

I haven’t tried the fruit superfood powders yet, but they’re definitely on my to-buy list, for sure! The travel-friendly premixed protein shakes are so convenient when I’m being too lazy to make a fun shake, or am on the road visiting my gorgeous niece.
